What a carbuncle!

Could this hideous erection be awaiting adornation with the dreaded signage from hell proposed by the council?
I hope not!

It probably is. There are three of them, aren't there? It's annoying that they put the poles up and then just left them - inviting complaints and controversy.
There used to be a sign that said "Vico Open Sea Bathing", first at the old entrance where the little car park is, and later - but for a very short time - at the present entrance. Someone removed that sign and it was never replaced.
Now we are going to be saddled with the awkward name, Hawk Cliff. Does anyone actually call it that? I think they should restore the "Vico Bathing Place" sign at the entrance.
And as for the "Beware Nudists" sign, could they just put something discreet at the hut, beside the No Fishing and No Diving signs?
By the way, what happened to the little video from the 50's that was on this site? I loved that. Wasn't there another name on the bathing place in that film? That what I logged on here to see.

Hi Gerry,

Yes there are three, epitomising the way politics work in this country - stick the unadorned pole up and just wait to see what the reaction is before deciding what signage to print! I expect the placement of the poles was chosen with that in mind, as they could very credibly hold signage warning of dangerous paths/cliff etc.

Regarding the equally hideous 'Hawk Cliff' that the council have stamped upon it, I think the only users of that nomenclature are the newbee Ross O'carroll Kelly clones that now swarm the place ever since its existence was broadcast to the world in march!

I'm not sure wha happened to the video link, but I will repost it now.
