Martello Tower No. 7

The Fortification is open every day 9 am to 5 pm until Sunday 28th August at 5 pm. 
Exhibition at Dunlaoghaire town hall is mon to fri all day and sun 1 to 5 pm.

Waterspout


I found this photo I took about 30 years ago of a waterspout on the Irish sea (as seen from the ferry). If you have enough faith you can see the cone descending from the cloud and the water being sucked up from the sea.

Double figures

I got 11 degrees in the pool (the tide was coming in but hadn't cooled it down) and 10 degrees in the sea with my state-of-the-art German instrument .

I notice that 4 years ago we hit double figures 3 days later.  That's climate change for you.

What I thought was pollution turned out to be very small jellyfish (cnidaria) and comb jellies (cnetophora),
 the latter giving a flashing coloured light display.
