Martello Tower No. 7

The Fortification is open every day 9 am to 5 pm until Sunday 28th August at 5 pm. 
Exhibition at Dunlaoghaire town hall is mon to fri all day and sun 1 to 5 pm.

Stalactites on the East Pier


This shows the effect on a rainwater hopper of rain trickling through the blocks of stone (presumably they are limestone blocks or the lime is from the cement between the blocks).

Expedition to remote Dalkey Island

Intrepid explorers from Vico Department of Maritime Services completed an expedition to remote Dalkey Island, far out in the Irish Sea. Braving treacherous currents and aggressive marine mammals the team successfully landed on the sole tiny beach, surrounded by dangerous rocks and dangerous mushrooms.
